Almost forgot! ..and other updates

Posted by mark on 1st May 2006

I almost forgot the funniest this from our Easter trip to Columbus!

We were all sitting down to eat our Easter lunch and everyone joined hands to say grace. Rose grabbed Jenna’s hand and Grandma Murray put out her hand for Jenna to grab on to… well, instead Jenna gave Grandma a big “High-5″ and a big smile while everyone else chuckled through the rest of the prayer… it was priceless! I’m so glad I teach her worthwhile things :)

In other Jenna related news, she now has all 4 of her molars popping through which she appears to be taking like a trooper despite waking up in the night once or twice over the last few weeks. Some night have been worse then others but over all it seems to be getting better.

We recently found a playground in our neighbourhood! Don’t ask why it took us so long to find it. The last couple of nights we have taken a walk down to the park to let her climb the plastic rock wall that leads to the slides and tunnel that she crawls through. Tonight she even got to ride the see-saw! We are going to take along the camera sometime this week, and maybe one day I’ll get around to posting some pictures (I think I have somewhere in the ballpark of 200 pictures sitting on the camera at the moment)

Jenna has also picked up a couple of more signs, as she now tells us she wants water, a bath and every now and then she’ll say thank you. Add this to her already telling us she wants more, or she wants to eat, or drink milk and I’d say she’s doing pretty well. It’s been a lot of fun for me to watch… like the other night Rose was putting Jenna to bed and she walked out in to the kitchen, looked at me and signed “eat, more, milk” and then tried to open the fridge door… I was floored.

She recently graduated to the Junior Toddlers room at daycare, and seems to be making the adjustment well… and considering they get to spend a lot of time playing outside, I can’t say that I’m surprised one bit. If there is one thing Jenna likes, it’s being outside and exploring the world around her.

Rose recently finished her graduate statistics class, much to her joy as I’m sure she’s tell you. She’s got a bit of time off as the school year winds down and then she’ll be taking a fairly full load over the summer in hopes to finish the degree in 2007.

My plans to return to school seem to be on the back burner for now as I’ve been extremely busy at work. At this point I think I’ll be waiting until Rose has finished her degree to begin and finish mine.

Pictures soon, I promise!
