ok…so some major updates in Miss Jenna’s life:

–being sick once a month is not fun…RSV, unexplained diarea virus, and a good ol’ cold. Warm weather days can’t get here fast enough to blow the winter funk outta here.

–soy formula is the current drink of choice (a switch was made to stop diarea) but we’re hoping to transition to whole milk (what a one year old should be drinking) this week!!

–her first “shiner” happened last week. Jenna had a disagreement with a table at KinderCare. The table won but after some ice and teacher TLC she was back showing that table who’s boss! We’ll try to get the pic up soon…the colors around her eye turned out cool!

–bookworm would be a new adjective to describe Jenna. She likes to bring us a book, crawl into our lap, and turn the pages while we read to her. Sometimes we make it all the way through the book and other times just a couple pages before she reaches for a new book. We’re still trying to teach her to NOT eat the books but sometimes they’re just too tasty!

–Dance, Dance, Revolution would be Jenna’s favorite video game… if we were CRAZY parents to let her play! Uncle Philip bought her a Baby MP3 player “loaded” with nursery songs. She carries it around clicking to a desired song and then finds her butt “rockin’ out” better than Elvis. At our traditional Yours Truly Saturday breakfast, they had 50s/60s mix playing on Musak. Jenna could not sit still to save her life…I’ve never seen such “high-chair dancing” moves! Mark and I barely made it through our breakfast from laughing.

–last, but not least, Miss Jenna shared her first word yesterday… Mark and I have been signing to her since December. Whenever we made a sign, Jenna would just grin and laugh at us. I have to say we had pretty much given up thinking she just saw them as actions, not words. We had pizza for dinner and I shared a bit of cheese with her. I popped it into her mouth and she happily walked away to play. Moments later she returned and looked me dead in the eye and signed “More” (touching index fingers together…suppose to be all finger tips but I’ll take what I can get). I verbally asked if she wanted more and she made the sign again! I popped some cheese into her mouth and off she walked to look out the window. HOW COOL IS THAT! We’re impressed and we’ll see if other words surface.

We can’t believe she’s our “little human”. It’s happening so quickly.
