Just wanted to say hi!
I’ve been bad about writing…life is just getting interesting is all.
I’m still feeling good. The doctor says that Peanut’s head is down, heart beat is strong, and the belly is growing fine. SO MANY people say I’m still small but I feel big. I teach sitting down now and usually with my feet proped up. SO NOT LIKE ME!!! But, it keeps the bit of swelling I have in my feet down. My fingers and wrists are swelling more often. I wear stretchy braces at night to get some relief during the day. To combat all of this, I keep drinking water. WATER ROCKS! I’ve never drank so much of it in my life but it does make me feel better…and pee more, oh well! Thank goodness the bathroom is a short walk from my classroom!
Sleeping is becoming more interesting. I’m a stomach sleeper and I can’t wait to return to it. I side-sleep with pillows all around me as props and I usually can get some good shut eye. As for Mark, he’s been shipped to the guest room. Not because I’m a bed hog but because I’ve developed a bit of a snoreing issue. Some nights it’s good….some nights, I wake to find him in the guest bed. My doctor says it’s revenge for all the times I have to get up to pee during the night. Good thing the guest bed is still a Select Comfort!
Mark is right the Peanut is having a fun time moving in the belly. I still find the feeling weird and sometimes startleing but seeing my stomach move is just cool. Mostly Peanut is just kicking out but sometimes their long movements and those are just too awesome.
So, I have three weeks to go. My principal is still working on finding me a sub….ones qualified to teach math are rare apparently. Until then, I teach, I eat, I pee, and I sleep… and wait for Peanut to arrive!
Hope you’re staying warm and check back!

No news on the baby front… Rose is starting to have Braxton Hicks (no idea if I spelled that right) contractions we believe… they aren’t real instense so it’s hard to be sure. Peanut has been very active as of late squirming around and “body surfing” visably on Rose’s belly. It’s neat to watch, but I’m sure it feels really wierd to her..
We had our last lamaze class last week which was a tour of the maternity ward in the hospital we will deliver at in the coming weeks. Really nice labor rooms, and the nursing staff seems really attentive and easy going.
We are interviewing a Doula on Thursday, it was suppose to happen last night but she was on anitbiotics and said that she would be more cofortable knowing she was healthy and not contagious.. I like her already.

Just thought I’d share some cool news about my weekend…
the band I’m playing in, Emmet, participated in an international music festival/competition. generally what happens at these in Cleveland is that high school bands show up with the entire school and “real” bands have little to no chance of moving to the next round of competition… then the bands get to the next round and the whole thing becomes worthless…. but I digress…
Anyway, we made it through to the semi-finals! The semi-finals take place in April, then the finals in May. If we get to the finals in May and win, we move on to the regional semi-final in Cincinatti… if we win there, we go to the regional finals in Chicago… and if by some magical chance we happen to win in Chicago we would go all expenses paid to play at a huge outdoor festival in Germany in August!
This is a huge long shot… I didn’t think we’d get out of the first round… not because we aren’t talented, but because of the reasons I already mentioned. I’ll keep you updated…
