So, if you got our holiday newsletter you will no doubt have read how I think I’m 6 Degrees from Kevin Bacon… well, I figured it out and I am!
I played on Chris Nekvinda’s CD, Picture Show
Chris played guitar on The World Ain’t Slowing Down w/ Ellis Paul which was featured in Jim Carrey’s movie Me Myself and Irean
Jim Carrey was in Truman Show, The (1998) with Laura Linney

Today we painted the ceiling in the baby’s room to a nice brillant white. It made a world of difference as far as brightness in the room. You can watch our progress over the next few days by clicking the webcam (up near the top of the page)
New belly pictures have been posted in the photo gallery
Merry Christmas!

So we wanted to let you know that we survived the first major Cleveland snowfall… and the two more since then. Good grief! Mark took pictures out our living room window and will be posting them soon. I honestly can’t remember over 18 inches of snow at one time (I’m sure my parents can inform me of some). Hope all of you are safe and warm where you are.
So other loose ends…
–last baby check-up went well. Everything is on track and I’m feeling fine. Peanut is kicking more forcefully and is moving around more. I have a bit more energy than before and Peanut’s appetite has kicked back into overdrive! I’m not complaining…I still feel I have no right since I’ve avoided being sick. So the adjustment of life continues…happily!
–Lamaze class took a break for the Christmas/New Year weeks. I have to admit, I get more relaxation techniques from yoga (which I’m still doing) but hearing about all the labor stages and birth options has been nice. I’m glad we’re taking the class but I don’t think we’ll go back for future kids (did I say that?!?!?!?)
–grad class is done!!! I got all the papers written and to my professor…I hope. I emailed the last three papers on last Thursday from school but she replied that a virus was attached to them. When I pulled them up on my flash drive, one paper was corrupted and gone. Did I save them to a hard drive….no! So, I spent last Friday night retyping and faxed it to her Saturday. I didn’t get confirmation but I’m going with the idea that “no news is good news”. Many lessons have been learned from this class:-don’t take a class while pregnant, lack of energy doesn’t help learning-always back up files (can’t believe I had to relearn that one)-only send files from home to avoid random viruses from school.-finally, qualitative research is interesting but you really have to love the topic and the efforts (I’m not sure I’m there right now). I’m glad I survived and we’ll see when the next class appears.
–school yearbook is underway. Barbara and I spent a day and half of break getting things back on track. Since we changed layout programs our learning curve has been drastically altered and have had some issues getting things to the printer. I think we’re ok now and ready for the first big deadline of Jan 15.
I can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve! I’m sorry to say that the tree didn’t make it up in the house. With so much happening in December and Mark’s efforts to get the office into the basement, the tree just didn’t happen. We have outdoor lights but that’s just because Mark’s an aspiring Griswold and had those up 3 days after Thanksgiving. Crazy man!
Even with such craziness, we do believe that that there will be a painted and semi-ready Peanut room by New Years Day. Mark go some interesting shaped presents so we’ll have to see what they are tomorrow and what adventures we get with week 2 of vacation.
off to the Christmas Eve Service in a bit so Merry Christmas to all!

This is unbelieveable!!!
Friday was rain…
Saturday was snow that didn’t stick….
Sunday was snow that did stick for a total of 2 inches and melted down to half inch….
Monday…this is crazy… 9 INCHES IN OF SNOW IN 12 HOURS!!!! (with the bulk of it happening from 2pm on) Rose left school at 4pm, the buses were 30 minutes late, and what usually takes her 10 mintues of driving took her 1 HOUR 45 MINUTES!!! She gave up at 5:50 pm and stopped for dinner at The American Cafe before Peanut had a complete revolt. After an hour and a half dinner and grading session, she finally joined me at home at 8pm.
****This is Rose****
I would like to point out that this storm is entirely Mark’s fault! He’s been wanting to try out his new electic snowblower for weeks….now he gets his chance. I have to admit, it was very nice to come home to a freshly plowed driveway and a husband who still has energy to pick on me. Now we’ll have to see how he feels about getting up at 6:30am to plow the additional 9 inches scheduled for tonight!
Hope all of you are staying warm!

I ran up to Ann Arbor this weekend for a quick Kappa Kappa Psi meeting. I recently created a new website for them to use within the District and I went up to kind of walk them through it and get feedback/changes/etc.
I’m happy to report that the Sirius radio performed above expectations! From here to Ann Arbor I listened to a couple of different “streams” from Sirius, among the popular ones were “Hair Nation” (80′s Metal/Hair bands), “Big 80′s” (80′s music in general) and “The Spectrum” (Music from the last 5 decades)
I also purused NPR, ESPN and the two comedy channels.
Awesome stuff.
