A-OK

Posted by mark on 22nd September 2004

Rose had her regular check-up and got the results of the Quad-Screen yesterday. The test came back all clear, and the doctor said that she is doing fine… her blood pressure, the baby’s heartbeat and everything else are great. We have an appointment for a sonogram on Oct 19th (I think) so we’ll have some new baby pictures soon!

Be sure and put in your guesses in the Baby Betting Pool… lot of entries so far!

Not much to report

Posted by mark on 20th September 2004

Not too much going on at the moment, Rose had her “quad screen” done last week and we will ge the results tomorrow. She started her 18th week yesterday, still not really show, hence the lack of belly shots. She’s still feeling really good and not having any of the lovely side effects of pregnancy (morning sickness, etc)

I’m doing fine… I met with a guy named Matt last week to talk to him about auditioning for the band he is in… the audition is Oct 3rd… more details later obviously.

Everything else is just plugging along… more news tomorrow.

Weekend Update

Posted by mark on 13th September 2004

We had a great weekend!

Friday night, Jerry and Debbie came in to town for the weekend. They showed up around 10pm from Rochester and we sat around and talked till about midnight.

Saturday morning we woke up and took Pandora (my Ford Ranger) to Our Lady of the Wayside to donate it to charity. It was rather funny… to put it in perspective, I’ve been advertising the truck for sale for 4 weeks now and I had a handful of contacts about it but no one test drove it…

I was walking out of Our Lady and I saw my truck drive by on a test drive… It probably sold that day. Oh well… at least it goes to a good cause and I can take the full value off my taxes.

Saturday night we went and saw Phil Collins in concert…. wow. He was amazing. I would rank that in the top 3 concerts I’ve ever seen. It was incredible and I was very sad to know this was his last tour. Truly a great performer…

Sunday morning Jerry and Debbie left to head to the Buffalo Bills home opener and I settled in to watch what I was anticipating to be a Cleveland Browns loss verses the Baltimore Ravens… except they didn’t loose! What a great game! Browns won 20-3 and the guy who ran for 295 yards last year was held to 57 yards… 57 Yards!!

In other news, the Baby “Betting” Pool is now online… check it out and send in your guesses… no money or anything, but there may be a prize for whoever has the best guess. Click here to submit your picks!

Labor……..Day [off]

Posted by mark on 7th September 2004

Labor Day weekend recap for everyone…

Friday night I had a show down in Kent with James. It went okay despite the sound man being 3 and 1/2 hours late. Granted I got home about 2 hours later then I expected because of the delay.

Saturday I spent the entire day doing laundry (it had been a while) and Rose went to Ashland to shoot a wedding.

Sunday we put the Labor in Labor Day. We started off by completing the painting of the deck. It’s now a beautiful chocolate brown. After that we grabbed a quick bite to eat before washing both our cars. Then I sent Rose in to take a shower and I mowed the lawn.

Monday, we actually relaxed the whole day until I got ready to go to a show down in Akron (again, with James) but as I’m packing up the car to go my phone rings… it’s James… the show is cancelled because the club owner “wasn’t going to be able to make it to the club today to open for the evening”

WHATEVER!

So, I unpacked the car and we spent the rest of the night relaxing. I fired up the BBQ around 6:30 after an aborted Swenson’s trip (it was closed on Labor Day… duh!)

All in all it was a great weekend… and it’s a short work week!

Rose’s thoughts

Posted by rose on 6th September 2004

ok….Mark set me up to do this so I should give it a shot. Currently, I’m letting him sleep in so I’m on my own to try this.

First, I’d like to thank Allie for lending me maternity clothes…pants to be specific. Mark started the belly picture page because I officially can’t fit into my pants anymore. For the month of August, I couldn’t button them but now the zipper can’t make it up so I dove into the box of clothes for relief. Now, there’s only one problem…. I don’t have a “belly” to hold up the pants so I’m constantly pulling them back up to stay on my hips. Needless to say, my co-teachers and observant students (I have just a couple of those) chuckle everytime they see me doing this but so be it. Now, my mom is currently saying in her head, “Why doesn’t she just wear dresses?” Two reasons; 1) I like pants…the tom-boy in me is strong! 2) I’m still getting down on “kid level” and have yet to master that manuver in a skirt. So, my knowledgeable girlfriends have said don’t buy the next size up becuase you’ll get your belly soon……my mom says she didn’t show until month 7! The end result…Mark’s had it with me being uncomfortable so he’s taking me to Motherhood today (he knows that if HE doesn’t take me…I won’t go…clothes shopping is not the most fruitful search for me). So here’s to pants that fit!!!!!

Finally, Labor Day weekend update. Mark’s gigs with James include last Friday and tonight. I worked a wedding on Saturday (Mark…so thankfully…did laundry…clean underware is a good thing!) So that left yesterday to jointly paint the deck railing (NOT DOING THAT AGAIN…by spring we’ll have a plan to replace that railing because I’m NOT painting spindles again..Mark didn’t mind but I say NO!!!), wash cars (Mr. Clean car washer rocks!!), and Mark mowed the lawn. The plan “labor” yesterday…relax today. So, I’m off to play in the flower beds.

Happy Labor Day!

New Cellphone

Posted by mark on 4th September 2004

Somehow, I managed to break the LCD screens on my phone..

So after work I bolted to Cingular to get a replacement (I was hoping to get the same phone because it’s nice and simple)

Apparently, they don’t make simple phones anymore… so I ended up with a Motorola V400.

I’m kind of miffed since I really didn’t want to buy a new phone, and I am still unsure how I broke the old one. But I am kind of excited to have a camera phone with the impending peanut on the way… it will be a nice to have feature when he/she does something cute and all I have is my phone with me.
