For those of you who have never seen my CD collection… it’s quite a site. Although I know there others who have more CDs, still I feel like quite the audiophile at over 600 CDs.

With that being said, enter my new mp3 player. The iRiver ihp120 is quite an amazing machine, and I am quickly realizing that it will become one of those items that I come to rely on when I am without music in any situation.

Since recieving my ihp120 on the 29th, I’ve been slowly filling up it’s 20 gigabyte with complete albums from my collection. Right now, the number of infividual songs is just under 2000. I’m not sure how many CDs that is, but it you divide the number of songs by the average number of tracks on a CD (12) I am guessing that I have 160 or so albums with me at the moment.

All of which is on a small box the size of a cassette tape.

I love technology.

So far, the battery life is amazing, getting me through a full day of work with battery to spare. I haven’t really messed with the other features yet, but as I play I’m sure I’ll report all the cool things it can do.

and by the way… Happy New Year :)
