It would be horrible to break tradition… and Peabody’s knows that better then anyone else. (Peabody’s is a club that I have been playing at on and off since 1998 with different bands). Peabody’s has a knack for putting bands with other bands that have absolutly nothing in common… but this time, I’m completely excited. Still tentative, but I should know today, Ekko will be opening for Buckwheat Zydeco on March 5th….
for those keeping score at home, that’s acoustic pop (Ekko) and creole/blues/zydeco (Buckwheat Zydeco).
Now, only at Peabody’s would these two bands share a stage… but it just so happens I think Buckwheat Zydeco is an amazing musician and the king of Creole music in general… so it will be a stone cold honor to open for his band… as strange a pairing as it is..

A quick update to say that the weekend went extemely well on our end and we hope everyone who came had as good of a time as we did. It’s an amazing thing to see 18 people sitting on your couch…
Thanks to all that came and hung out, it was truly a blast and Rose and I said the other night that we would do it again.
In other news…
Ekko played at the Hi-Fi Club as part of the Cleveland Music Festival… it was reported that 400+ people where there… but I’m guessing while we were on stage there was maybe 250… but I could be wrong. Either way, he show went great and the crowd was really in to it… For me personally it was nice to play a full drum set live show again after a year and a half.

We are being invaded!!!
Not really.. well kinda…
The North Central District Alumni Association is having it’s Winter Dysfunction at our home this weekend. Now origionally, we thought that maybe twelve people would show up and that would be all good…. nope… close to 20 are going to converge on our small house and test the limits of our water tank
It should be fun, but slightyl stressful on Rose and I. Hopefully all goes well.. I’m sure there will be a full report next week on the events of the weekend.
In other news.. I’m still on the bench at work. Kind of crazy at this point, hopefully something will happen soon.

Had a nice weekend as Rose and I went up to NY to visit Jerry and Debbie in the Rochester area. Got to get some good BBQ food at the Dinosaur Bar and Grill and went to the Sabres game on Satruday night. The game was most excellent since they won… first time since the all-star break. I might have even ended up on SportsCenter, but I’m not sure… they were doing the ‘Kiss-Cam’ around the arena during a break in the action, and the focused on the guy and girl directly behind me. The paused for a minute and the guy sitting next to the other guy leaned over and kissed him… the girl lost it (She couldn’t stop laughing), it was histerical! What made it even funnier was the fact that the couple had their arm around one another and were waiting for the camera to be on them… it was classic.
Ekko rehearsal are going well, and our first show is next weekend at the Hi-Fi Club in Lakewood as part of the Cleveland Music festival. Lost in America has been playing out weekly at the area open mics and we recently booked a full show for April… more details on that later…. but till then you can catch us every Wednesday night (for the most part) at the Arabica on University Circle in Cleveland…. usually around 9pm.

Hi everyone.
Just wanted to update everyone and let you all know that surgery went extremely well and and I healing nicely. I’m a little bit sore and swollen, but that’s to be expected. The surgeon was great, he was in and out in less then an hour… and for the record, I didn’t ‘go under’, I went through it on novicain and nitrous oxide… needless to say, I was surprised I was able to do this considering my disdane for dentists.

Just a quick note to say that everything is going well. I am having my wisdom teeth out on Friday morning… but other then that everythin is fine. The bands are chugging along, Lost in America performed the last two Tuesdays at the Barking Spider’s Open-mic nights. Ekko is still in rehearsals for the Cleveland Music Festival.
