I just want to comment for a minute on the impending baseball strike. I find it very hard to feel sorry for the player or the owners in the million dollar debate. Considering the number of people who are out of work, living pay check to pay check and the state of the economy in general, I don’t think a baseball player should make more the 1 million dollars a year… ever. Drop ticket prices, drop beer prices and let’s get back to what’s important… the game itself. These whinny assed millionaires (both the players and the owners) need to remember that they are playing a game! They aren’t teaching children, they aren’t preventing diseases, thay aren’t even protecting the community… they are playing a game.

I volunteer to play baseball for a living, and you only have to pay me $100,000… a bargin at today’s inflated salaries. Do you have any idea how happy I’d be to be able to play in a big park in the sunshine for a few month a year?

I’m a baseball fan… but someday’s it’s really hard to be a fan of selfish players who are only concerned with the purchase of their next Lexus SUV and the size of their next mansion. Baseball will eventually fold up and close it’s doors because the salaries will continue to go up, and the fans will eventually be priced out of the game. The stadiums will be empty and everything will be gone.

So I say… Go Barons

Another evening filled with work… last night saw the first coat of paint on the hallway, the master bedroom floor wood puttied, and the floor boards in the office, guest room and hallway stripped (at least, the stuff was applied, have to finish the process tonight). I’m taking the night off tonight because I have a work function after work, so Rose is going to go over and finish the floor boards.

In other news…. well, there is no other news really… but I thought you might be getting tired of house updates. Sorry. :)

Work continues on the house… a big thanks to Amy, Doug, Erica and Bill for joining the painting party this weekend. There is no way we could have done it without you guys.

Last night I put a third coat of paint in the dinning room, and began to paint the hallway. Tonight I’ll be painting the hallway and the bathroom. Rose is busy stripping floorboards/molding, and she has just started the new school year. Rose’s folks are coming in to town this weekend to help us refinish the floor, this will be the last step before we move in on September 8th (If you can help us, please let us know, we could use all the help we can get)

I’ve added a couple of new pictures of me and my nephews… go check them out!

We got two rooms painted last night… I’m going to be heading over later to do some touchup painting and some other things as well. Hopefully all the painting will be done this weekend, since we have some help coming our way on Sunday :)
