A major milestone was passed today as Jenna had her first day of Kindergarten! She did great, as expected, with going to school and she said she had a great time and really enjoyed the day!
I’ve added a few pictures from the day in the gallery, so click here!
Considering we did next to no travel, it seems like summer has been very busy and it’s hard to believe that it is nearly over! Since the last time I checked in we headed down to Columbus for the 4th of July to hand out with Grandma and Grandpa Murray and while we were there we caught up with Peter, Celeste and Ethan (Erin was off visiting her other Grandparents in North Carolina if I remember correctly).
I finished up my second summer class at Akron and I’m happy to report that I recorded my first 4.0 semester at Akron. Not bad for a guy who originally graduated with a GPA under 2.5 oh so many years ago. Classes for fall start on August 23rd and I will be taking 2 classes… after the fall I will have only 9 classes left to graduation! It doesn’t sound like much, but if I’m lucky enough to take 2 per semester I’ll be graduating in the summer of 2012… If I can’t get the classes I need when I need them, who knows when I will graduate!
After returning home the next big event was Rose’s quick trip to Memphis for a fraternity meeting, during which my parents came up to hang out for a week and help me with the girls… thank goodness!
Rose and the girls just returned from a nearly 10 day visit to Columbus so that they were able to avoid the kitchen and bathroom remodeling mayhem that the house endured for the first week of August. I will try and post pictures of the new look very soon… but it’s such a vast improvement, we love it! With this work complete, the last thing that needs done to the house is the exterior landscaping needs some heavy TLC… after that we can start considering when we want to sell it and get something a bit bigger… this hopefully after we purge the basement of some “treasures”
In a few weeks, Jenna will be starting Kindergarten… !!! She is very excited about it at the moment, but I’m sure there will be some trepidation and tears the first day or two… and Jenna might be sad and scared too. Jillian continues to grow like a weed! She has developed quite the personality in her attempts to keep up with her big sister. She’s got a handful of words and seems to be picking up new ones every day.
That’s all for now, I will try and post some updated pictures in the coming days as time allows… the house is still in quite a state after the construction.
